Hey KEM Electric Seniors!
Did you know your Co-op awards Scholarships?
Here at KEM Electric we are passionate about helping area students succeed and feel the scholarship program is a great way to encourage and recognize the achievements of our cooperative members children.
The cooperative will award 11 college scholarships to be used for the coming school year--one in the amount of $1,000 (Basin Scholarship), one for each of the 8 schools in our area in the amount of $500, one for homeschool/GED in the amount of $500, and one luck of the draw to be given away at annual meeting in June. You may apply for both the Basin and the KEM Scholarship but can only win one or the other. If you have not won a scholarship by June you can have a "second chance" by giving notice and attending annual meeting with your parent or guardian to be entered into the drawing- must be present to win.
The applicant must be a U.S. citizen and dependent of a Cooperative member/consumer. Also, the applicant must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a full-time graduate or undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four year college, university or vocational/technical school.
Awards are based on the following criteria: SAT/ACT scores, grade-point average, work experience, participation in school and community activities, a statement by the student explaining his/her educational and career goals, and a written recommendation by a third party..
Any questions regarding the scholarships may be directed to Lisa Rossow or Kirk Praus at 701-254-4666 or 800-472-2673
